Jitesh Sharma’s unique ability to consistently finish the game for the team attracted many and there were calls to include him in the Indian squad. Quite a few eyebrows were raised when he didn’t make the cut in the squad for the T20I series against the West Indies and BCCI also received criticism for it.
But a few weeks later, Jitesh Sharma was named to the Indian squad for the 2023 Asian Games, which will be played in China from September 23 to October 8. For the first time, the Indian men’s team will participate in the competition. With many youngsters in the team, it is fair to say that the goalkeeper-batsman will have to play a vital role in the team.
