BCCI clears Rajasthan Royals manager in alleged match-fixing case, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unaffected

A huge controversy surrounding Rajasthan Royals (RR) has now taken a new turn with the BCCI announcing its decision. Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder was under the scanner after a clip of an IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went viral on social media.

In that video, Romi Bhinder was seen using a mobile phone on the bench during the game, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sitting next to him was also watching the screen. This raised doubts because strict rules do not allow phone use in restricted areas during matches.

In accordance with Player and Match Officials Area (PMOA) protocols, coaches can bring phones into the dugout, but can only use them in the locker room.

Due to this, the matter was taken very seriously and the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) stepped in to investigate the dugout controversy.
