The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest women’s rankings on Tuesday, July 18. Australian batsman Beth Mooney edged past Sri Lankan batsman Chamari Athapaththu to reclaim the top spot in the Women’s ODI Batsmen Rankings.
Athapaththu’s spell at the top of the ODI batsmen’s ranking lasted just two weeks as he fell to third on 758 rating points. Meanwhile, Beth Mooney’s consistent performances in the first two ODIs against England helped her climb to the top spot.

Nat Sciver-Brunt reached second place after Beth Mooney

Ash Gardner achieved the best ranking of his career
England captain Heather Knight moved up four places to reach 14th in the batsman rankings. Knight played a crucial 75-run unbeaten strike in the opener as she chased a target of 264 runs. She shares the position with Sophie Devine from New Zealand.
Australian star Ash Gardner impressed with both bat and ball in the ODI series. He scored 54 runs and collected three wickets in each of the first two ODIs. Gardner has posted his career-high rankings on both the bowlers (8) and all-around (5) lists.

Nigar Sultana moved up to No. 31 in the ODI batsmen
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana rose to 31st in the ODI batsman rankings after scoring 39 runs against India. Sultana Khatun moved up 25 places to No. 78 in the bowlers’ rankings, while Marufa Akter’s performance of 4/29 earned her a place in the top 100 rankings.
Athapaththu moved up to ninth in the T20I batsman rankings, scoring an unbeaten 80 runs against New Zealand. Harshitha Madavi, who shared an unbeaten record of 143 runs with Athapaththu, moved up five places to No. 22 in the standings.
