Arshdeep Singh has received massive inputs on how to keep Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in check as Punjab Kings (PBKS) prepare to take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 40th match of the TATA Indian Premier League 2026 (TATA IPL 2026) at Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 28.
Ahead of this IPL 2026 clash between PBKS and RR, all eyes are on 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who took the tournament by storm with fearless batting and incredible confidence, showing against world-class bowlers at such a young age.
Arshdeep Singh has a clear game plan to stop Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s storm in PBKS vs RR IPL 2026 clash
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become the biggest headache for bowlers in the ongoing IPL 2026. His confidence, shot selection and offensive mindset have made him one of the most dangerous hitters this season.
In the last match against SRH, the left-handed batsman hit an explosive 36-ball century to send a strong message to the rival teams going forward in the tournament. Now, all nine teams are desperately looking for a way to stop Vaibhav this season.
Ahead of Tuesday’s PBKS vs RR clash, Cheteshwar Pujara has shared a clear plan to take on the young star. He believes Arshdeep Singh will need to be very disciplined with his line and length rather than trying anything fancy to keep the young gun quiet.

Cheteshwar Pujara Shares Smart Strategy to Keep Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Calm in Mullanpur
Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports’ show Game Plan: “Arshdeep, I think he, being a left-arm seamer, will go over the stumps for Vaibhav. He will have to make sure he bowls that mid-stump plan and outside off stump, where the ball moves away from him.
We have seen that when Moshin bowled against Vaibhav, he got that success against him. Arshdeep will have to do something similar.”
Pujara further added, “Try to go back in length on mid-off and outside off-stump. Try to keep hitting that channel more often and also try to use your slower deliveries because Arshdeep has very good slower deliveries. Try to use yorkers on middle if you have to. But from the beginning, I think in the first four or five deliveries, just try to hit that length on middle and off-stump.”

Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and Xavier Bartlett warned about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
However, Pujara made it clear that even with a solid plan, stopping Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will not be easy as the youngster is in excellent form this season. He has already scored 357 runs in eight matches with an average of over 40 and an explosive strike rate of over 230.
He also pointed out that Vaibhav likes to bat on good pitches and likes to attack quality bowlers without fear, so Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and Xavier Bartlett will be his main targets in Mullanpur. He also feels Bartlett will be under pressure after a poor outing against DC.
Pujara signed off saying, “I think Vaibhav, the way he batted in the last game, was brilliant. He scored a 100. So, hopefully, he will continue to bat the same way because on a good pitch, he likes to take on the bowlers. We will have to do the same against Arshdeep and Marco Jansen as well. Bartlett didn’t play well in the last game. He conceded more than 50; I think it was close to 60 against Delhi. So, “You will be under a bit of pressure, so try to take advantage of that.”
