The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 22, was between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). While chasing a target of 193, Cam Green returned after scoring a golden duck. The Australian all-rounder was dismissed by Noor Ahmed in the first ball he faced during the clash.
Came Green’s struggle continues in the IPL. He has not crossed the 30-run mark in this tournament. He was unbeaten in the last match but failed to score runs as he did not do well in the tournament, and the pressure is mounting on Cam Green as he was paid INR 25.20 crore during last year’s mini-auction.
The green fight continues
The monetary pressure on Green has led to the downfall of the Australian cricketer. Cam Green has managed just 56 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 147.36, with the highest score being 32* in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. In the last match, after scoring a six, he breathed a sigh of relief as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
Green has been under pressure since the start of the tournament due to his price tag. He was brought in to replace Andre Russell in the team, and has substantially failed to make his mark or fill the shoes of the great Jamaican all-rounder. The Australian, despite starting to bowl, has not been at his best this season.
KKR is misusing Cam Green
Former Australian captain Aaron Finch said: “There’s a bit of panic, it doesn’t look the same as it did in the past. Remember when I was at the top of the MI order, how I had totally different intentions,” Finch said. “He was imposing at the crease. Now he seems hesitant. Don’t push him down. Push him up the order or give him a rest.”
Green is not a big spin player and is good at playing with pace. In tonight’s match against CSK, he batted at number 6, and with the spinners bowling from both ends, he failed to capitalize and was dismissed with a score of nil on the first ball. KKR should think about making him bat in the top 3 or dropping him as he is not useful towards the end of the innings.

Until now in #IPL2026Cameron Green has scored only 24 runs in 3 innings for KKR (18, 2 and 4).
At ₹25.20 crore, that’s more than ₹1.05 crore per run! 😱
Absolute waste of money. It’s time to move on! #KKR #CameronGreen @KKRiders https://t.co/FXze0XkVc1— H Heart (@H786Heart) April 14, 2026
What Cameron Green was doing batting at number 6 only KKR knows and Sarook knows how long Rinku Singh will remain as a finisher.
Why can’t Rinku Singh be given time to calm down and play longer innings? When every tom dick and harry has a chance to be in the top 4 of a…
