Noor Ahmad brings a new celebration; dismisses Ajinkya Rahane and Cameron Green in a span of two balls in IPL clash

Chennai Super Kings spinner Noor Ahmad made a commanding return to form at Chepauk with a double knock to remove KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and their most valuable player Cameron Green.

CSK didn’t see it coming when they entered their MA Chidambaram stadium. After losing three matches in a row, Super Kings needed to improve in every possible way and Sanju Samson and the bowlers simply led the way in that phase of the innings for Chennai Super Kings.

Placed at the ninth position in the IPL 2026 points table, they overcame the difficult phase and then reaped the fruits of their hard work. Noor also showed some return to his promising form from last season.

Noor Ahmad invents a new celebration in the middle of IPL 2026

CSK player Noor Ahmad emerged as one of their biggest additions in the last season when CSK picked up many such players in search of domestic and international players who could play for them in the long term.

The Afghan spinner was the second-highest wicket-taker in the last season despite CSK finishing last in the points table. However, this year has not been the best I can remember.

He was looking for good form and got it at just the right time. In front of the home crowd, Noor picked the wickets of KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and put up a spectacular performance. After bidding farewell to Ajinkya Rahane, Noor posed with her eyes closed and her hands inverted.

Although the celebration for now doesn’t have much meaning for us at the moment, it would surely have involved something as per Noor’s wish, which could be revealed later after the match.

Noor Ahmad finishes a great stage in Chepauk

While Noor Ahmad did not have the best of seasons in the IPL this season, despite featuring as the main spinner for the Super Kings, he gave away runs at a double-digit economy rate. The young Afghan needed to respond in the tournament.

MA Chidambaram’s conditions, coupled with the confidence boost after their win against Delhi Capitals, were very positive for the players and also for Noor Ahmad. He took three wickets in this match, giving away only 21 runs in 4 overs.

A surprising economy of 5.25, backed by the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, the KKR captain; Cameron Green, the 25.20 crore cricketer; and Rinku Singh to finish. This game, of course, changed the course of the game.

Chennai will overtake Mumbai Indians on the points table with a win at Chepauk

Chennai Super Kings did not have a good start to the season but later bounced back with two wins in the season. One against Delhi Capitals in the last game and then against Kolkata Knight Riders in today’s match.

A win today for the Men in Yellow means that Ruturaj Gaikwad will take his team from last position in the points table to a respectable position at no. 8. They would then get four points in the IPL and could try to overtake Mumbai Indians in the TATA IPL 2026 table.
