Indian batsman Virat Kohli needs no explanation as to why he has so many fans around the world. Virat is the most followed Indian sportsman on Instagram, with more than 200 million followers. Virat has set new fitness standards and is one of the fittest cricketers in India. The former Indian captain has never missed a match due to injury and runs at incredible speed between the wickets.

Spin magician and Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan has praised the former Indian captain. Muralitharan used to share a dressing room with Virat when he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

Speaking to Star Sports, Murali stated that if anyone wants to be a cricketer, everyone would want to be like Virat Kohli. The former Sri Lankan player stated that he has many good qualities as a cricketer and that he is very passionate about the game.

Muttiah Muralitharan said: “If you want to be a cricketer, everyone would love to be like Virat Kohli. What I can say about him is that he believes in himself and works hard. He is a player who works hard and is determined to perform well. He has many good qualities as a cricketer. He is passionate about it.”

Later in the conversation, Muttiah Muralitharan stated that whether Virat Kohli plays as a captain or a player, the former Indian captain wants to compete and win. He also found similarities between him and Virat in which he stated that we both take the game seriously and don’t want to give up any match. Murali added that Virat is a fun-loving person and he had some good times with him at RCB.

Muttiah Muralitharan said: “When playing. You see, whether he plays as a captain or as a player, he wants to win and he wants to compete. So I think he is very dedicated to the game and has put a lot of effort into it. And he is very hardworking. We’re both serious and we want to win and we don’t want to let go. But cricket outside is a lot of fun. He’s very, very normal and not tense or determined in that way. He is a fun loving person. And I had great moments within RCB.”

Virat Kohli He is one of the best batsmen in modern cricket and is known for his commitment to the Test format. As a member of the Indian Test team, Virat has scored runs in every country of the world. He has always said that he prefers the red ball format.

Virat completed 2023 as one of the leading run-scorers, averaging 66.06 and 2048 runs in 35 matches, including eight hundreds. Kohli was also named ICC ODI Player of the Year for his exceptional performance in the 50-over format for one year.

Virat Kohli is currently away from cricket action and was blessed with a baby boy earlier this month. The right-handed batsman will return to the cricket field in IPL 2024.
