Former ICC umpire Anil Chaudhary makes big claim over Riyan Parag’s vaping incident during PBKS vs RR clash

After Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was caught vaping inside the dressing room, former Indian referee Anil Chaudhary has issued a massive warning for the young captain. He has warned him against the use of cameras, which has not allowed these types of acts to remain hidden.

Rajasthan Royals have experienced a new rise in this edition of the competition, having finished last season in a humiliating ninth position. The Royals have a new ownership group, a futuristic mentor and a new captain as they began the new season with a revamped team.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been the two big names in this lineup in this edition with the bat, and the Royals have found a new star finisher in Donovan Ferreira. Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi have been the two superstars with the ball.

Riyan Parag’s vaping controversy and BCCI’s official probe into RR skipper

Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag had earlier indulged in activities that landed him in major trouble, but they were outside the stadium and not under any kind of illegality. However, this time, the young man’s carefree lifestyle could cause problems for him and the franchise.

After being sent off in the crucial match in which his team was chasing a massive total, Parag, perhaps out of possible anxiety, was seen smoking inside the dressing room. This led to a massive violation of the PECA Act of 2019.

The BCCI also informed that it would conduct an internal investigation and seek an explanation from youngster Riyan Parag. They also informed that based on these explanations, the IPL committee would be taking its next course of action.

Anil Chaudhary warns Riyan Parag about using cameras that has limited personal space to bathrooms only

After the incident, large-scale fallout has taken its toll on the reputation of the captain and his team, the Rajasthan Royals. Former Indian umpire Anil Chaudhury has made an honest revelation on the matter.

Former Indian referee Anil Chaudhary says: “I think it is an administrative matter and I don’t know the legal aspects, but there will certainly be government rules and other regulations.”

He then added: “Sometimes these cameras can go anywhere, so all the players have to be very careful. These are young guys; they don’t know that sometimes they can be caught anywhere except in the bathroom, so kids have to be careful.”

Lastly, he exclaimed that television should offer pure entertainment and everyone should discuss the game instead of talking about other things that are not directly related to the game.

Riyan Parag’s poor batting form continues despite improvement in captaincy

Riyan Parag’s form in IPL 2026 has been a major concern for Rajasthan Royals. The captain has just accumulated 119 runs in 8 games of the season, without coming out on only one of those occasions.

Furthermore, Parag has failed to play more than 30 innings in this edition of the competition and has failed to deliver for his team when they needed him to shoot at times. He struggled to keep pace with the innings during the first innings and did not back up RR’s chase of totals in the second.

However, on the contrary, his form as captain of the RR team has been very impressive. Having led them in 9 games this season, they have won six matches and are currently third on the points table with 12 points and are just a handful of wins away from sealing a playoff spot.
