Former Zimbabwe captain and England head coach Andy Flower will be part of Australia’s coaching staff for the highly anticipated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against India. Andy Flower joined the Australian team as a consultant ahead of the crucial Test match in England.

Australia will face India in the WTC final match at London’s Kennington Oval between June 7-11, with June 12 being the reserve day. After the one-off Test match against India, the Pat Cummins-led team will take on England in a five-match Ashes 2023 series.

The Australia team began practicing at the Oval on Monday under the supervision of Andy Flower. The former Zimbabwean captain, who served as England head coach, can share his experience of his condition and state of mind with the Australian team before their summit clash.

The 55-year-old will return to the same position in the second half of the Ashes series. Flower served as England’s head coach and team manager between 2009 and 2014. England won three Ashes series under his leadership, including a 3–1 away series victory in Australia.

Flower guided England to their maiden title win at the 2010 T20 World Cup. The left-handed batsman was part of the coaching staff in various T20 leagues around the world. He helped the Lucknow Super Giants qualify for the play-offs in consecutive years in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The left-footer represented Zimbabwe in 63 tests and 213 one-day caps in his 11-year international career. The wicketkeeper batsman scored 4794 runs in Tests and 6786 in ODIs respectively. He broke 16 international centuries and 82 half centuries in his illustrious career.
