Wasim Jaffer Pick India XI For WTC Final

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer chose his India XI for the ICC World Test Championship final. India faces Australia in the WTC final starting June 7 at the Oval. The winner will be crowned the new World Trials Champion.

This is the second consecutive WTC India final. They lost the previous final against New Zealand in Southampton. Meanwhile, this is Australia’s first end of the world trade center. Many believe that given the conditions of the WTC final in England, the Australians have an advantage over the Indian team.

Talking about Wasim Jaffer’s India XI, he chose Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as his two starters. Rohit has a good record as an opener in England, while Gill’s recent form in the IPL has been the highlight of his career so far. The consistency with which he has scored runs has been fabulous.

The former Indian opener decided to go with Ishan Kishan at six and Ravindra Jadeja at seven. Kishan has been endorsed by various pundits over KS Bharat for his aggressive batting style. Many believe that he is the ideal replacement for Rishabhb Pant as both can play with the same attacking approach. Kishan and Jadeja also bring left-handedness to the missing top-five hitting lineup.

Jaffer has chosen Mohammed Shami, Mohd Siraj and Umesh Yadav as three sewing specialists along with Ravichandran Ashwin as the spinning specialist. This constitutes a complete bowling attack with three seamers and two spinners.

Jagger has turned down the likes of KS Bharat, Axar Patel and Jaydev Unadkat from the Xi game. Notably, India is now without Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, all of whom are tending to injuries.
