IPL 2024 auction: full list of players bought by DC

Delhi Capitals (DC) bought 9 players, including four foreigners, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini-auction. The IPL 2024 auction was held on December 19 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai and saw a total of 332 cricketers under the hammer.

The most expensive player bought by the franchise was uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra. The franchise spent INR 7.20 crore to acquire their services.

Ahead of IPL 2024 auction, Capitals of Delhi (DC) released 11 players from its roster. Some of the popular players launched by the franchise were Manish Pandey, Mustafizur Rahman, Phil Salt, Priyam Garg, Rilee Rossouw and Rovman Powell.

Delhi Capitals also retained 16 players in their squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Rishabh Pant, Anrich Nortje, David Warner, Ishant Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Mukesh Kumar and Prithvi Shaw were some of the names that DC retained in their squad. DC did not make any trades before the auction.

Last season, Delhi Capitals came in with a poor show. Led by David Warner, DC played 14 games in the tournament and won only 5. They lost a total of 9 games and finished in 9th place on the points table. They were far from a playoff spot.

Delhi Capitals are one of the few teams that have been part of the season since the debut season but have not won any IPL trophy so far. Delhi Capitals made it to the finals of the 2020 season and it was their best ever show in the league. They also made the playoffs in the 2021 season, but lost in the Eliminator clash. In the last two editions, DC failed to reach the playoffs.

Meanwhile, DC had Rs. 28.95 crore available with them before the auction. To retain 16 players, they spent Rs. 71.05 crores. They had vacancies for 9 more players in their squad, of which 4 could be foreign players. Below is the complete list of players purchased by DC during the IPL 2024 Auction.
