Australian batsman Travis Head had a wonderful day in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and was picked up by the 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 6.80 crore. Head was one of the heroes of Australia’s brilliant 2023 ODI World Cup winning campaign and was Player of the Match in the semi-final and final.

Travis Head was elated after his signing with Sunrisers Hyderabad and shared a video message. In the video message uploaded by Sunrisers Hyderabad on their official name ‘X’, Head said: “Hello Sunrisers fans, delighted to join us this year. Travis Head has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in two seasons of the Indian Premier League and has represented the franchise in ten matches. Head did not have a good start with RCB and now he will want to improve his numbers
In addition to Travis Head, fellow Australians Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins ended up being the day’s top buys. Starc at one end was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders for a fee of INR 24.75 crore, while Cummins ended up with Sunrisers Hyderabad for a fee of INR 20.50 crore.
