Match 7 CSK vs GT of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place on Tuesday (March 26). The finalists of the last edition of the league faced each other at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai and both teams put up a magnificent effort.
The Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to play first. But their decision did not go well for them as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra were exceptional. The duo came out with all their weapons and put pressure on the opposition.
Both scored 46 runs each and added 62 runs together. After that, it was all about Shivam Dube, who closed out a brutal half-century. The lanky batsman scored 51 runs off 23 balls which ensured that the opposition spinners did not settle at all. He batted with a strike rate of over 221.
Daryll Mitchell (24) and Sameer Rizvi (14) finished the innings on a high as Chennai Super Kings posted a mammoth total of 206 runs on the board. For Gujarat Titans, Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 1/36.
In the chase, Shubman Gill (8) lost his wicket early and after that, they couldn’t continue at all. Sai Sudharsan (37) was the top scorer but that was not enough as Gujarat Titans could not chase the target. The Chennai Super Kings bowlers kept hitting wickets at regular intervals. The visitors managed only 143/8 and lost the game by 68 runs.

Chennai Super Kings got the first place in the IPL 2024 points table after CSK vs GT match 7. Rajasthan Royals were pushed to second place. Gujarat Titans after the defeat fell to sixth place. Kolkata Knight Riders are ranked third, while Punjab Kings are ranked fourth and RCB are ranked fifth. The rest of the teams have not yet registered to win.
