Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam .
Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 106 runs in Vishakhapatnam to win their third game of the IPL. Opting to bat, KKR got off to a good start with the bat as Sunil Narine (85) stole the show with the bat while playing a brutal innings at the top.
The left-hander added 60 runs for the opening stand with Phil Salt (18). After that, debutant Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54) impressed many with his heroics in the game. Andre Russell (41) and Rinku Singh (26) finally saw to it that KKR did not waste the start. They landed some big hits in the end as they finished with a total of 272 for seven. For Delhi, Anrich Nortje picked three wickets.
It was not a fruitful outing with the bat for Delhi Capitals in the game. They lost Prithvi Shaw (10), David Warner (18), Mitchell Marsh and Abhishek Porel to be 33 for four in their third Indian Premier League match.
Skipper Rishabh Pant (55) and Tristan Stubbs (55) fought well for their team and entertained the fans. The duo added 93 runs for the fifth wicket but both fell after half-centuries at a stroke. Kolkata’s bowlers continued to contribute wickets and ended Delhi’s innings at 166 to win the game by 106 runs.
Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy picked three wickets each, while Mitchell Starc also bagged two scalps. Sunil Narine and Andre Russell also made valuable contributions with the ball and helped their team finish the match on a high.

In the points table after the 16th match of DC vs KKR, Kolkata Knight Riders occupied the first place. Rajasthan Royals fell to second place, followed by Chennai Super Kings. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are ranked fourth and fifth, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad at sixth, PBKS, RCB, DC and MI the last four teams in the table.

Virat Kohli and Riyan Parag are top of the Orange Cap rankings, followed by Heinrich Klaasen. After their valiant contributions with DC vs KKR, Rishabh Pant and David Warner took fourth and fifth place respectively.
