RR vs LSG and GT vs MI were on the line in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday (March 24). The first match took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. While the second match of the day took place at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In the first match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, the Sanju Samson-led team won the game by 20 runs and marked their first game of the season. They gave a magnificent effort with bat and ball.

Opting to bat first, Rajasthan Royals made a valiant start with the bat, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal (24) and Jos Buttler (11). After coming out, captain Sanju Samson made sure to lead from the front and took his team to the big total on the board.

Sanju Samson scored 82 runs, while Riyan Parag (43) and Dhruv Jurel (20*) played useful knocks around him. Based on their fun effort with the bat, Rajasthan Royals posted a mammoth total of 193 runs on the board. For LSG, Naveen-ul-Haq picked two wickets.

In the chase, LSG did not get off to a great start as they lost four quick wickets. KL Rahul (58) and Nicholas Pooran (64*) did their best but could not take the team beyond the finish line. RR restricted the opposition to 173 runs and won the game by 20 runs.

In the second game, Mumbai Indians put the Gujarat Titans to bat first. Captain Shubman Gill (31) and Wriddhiman Saha (19) gave a valiant start to the team. After that, Sai Sudharsan (49) held the fort for his team and played a decent hand while batting at number 3.

Azmatullah Omarzai (17) and David Miller (12) made vital contributions before Rahul Tewatia (22) finished the innings on a high for his team. Gujarat Titans finished with a total of 168/6 and for Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers. He came back with the figures of 3/14.

In the chase, Mumbai Indians lost Ishan Kishan for a duck. But after that, debutant Naman Dhir played a 20-run cameo. After getting out, Rohit Sharma (42) and Dewald Brevis (46) bowled superbly well and attacked the Gujarat Titans bowlers.

But after that, Mumbai Indians lost quick wickets and went down. Tilak Varma (25) and Hardik Pandya (11) tried their best but failed. Gujarat Titans restricted Mumbai to runs and won the game by the margin of 6 races.

Rajasthan Royals climbed to the top of the points table after their win in RR vs LSG. Chennai Super Kings fell to second place. Punjab Kings are third, while Gujarat Titans entered the top four. KKR is fifth in the table while the rest of the teams are yet to register a win.
