The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 26, was between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC). It was the first of Saturday’s doubleheader. It was a packed M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the match, DC beat RCB by 6 wickets as it was their penultimate home match at this venue before moving to Raipur.

The Delhi Capitals captain won the toss and elected to field first, and they arrived with an unchanged XI since their last loss against the Chennai Super Kings. RCB also played against the same team. The opening pair of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli got off to a good start as they put together a 52-run partnership for the first wicket.

IPL 2026: RCB vs DC Match Result:

Kohli was the first man to be dismissed for 19 off 13 balls. Salt took charge and continued scoring at a decent pace, reaching his fifty in just 30 balls. It was his second half-century this season. RCB scored 10 points at midway but then Axar dismissed Devdutt Padikkal.

Salt was also dismissed in the next over with Kuldeep Yadav picking out the dangerous batsman with a score of 63 off 38 balls. Tim David started his rampage from the first ball he faced, and RCB captain Rajat Patidar didn’t have much to do as he was dismissed for 8 runs.

However, David was dismissed for 26 runs off 17 runs as he failed to get going in the last five overs. RCB had a collapse in the middle as they lost 5 wickets in the span of 50 runs. The defending champions then failed to advance in the match and the DC players restricted the home team to 175/8.

Pathum Nissanka, who came out to chase DC’s opener, was dismissed early in the innings. The wickets continued to fall as Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked three wickets in 11 deliveries and wreaked havoc for the DC batsman as they were reduced to 18/3. KL Rahul attacked from the wing and Tristan Stubbs played as an anchor.

They formed an association of fifty people in pursuit of 31 balls. Rahul scored his fifty in 30 balls and was dismissed for 57 runs as DC were 87/4. Stubbs and Axar Patel then formed a partnership, but the latter retired injured again. Stubbs was unbeaten with a score of 60 off 47 balls, and David Miller, the finisher, scored 22 off 10 balls.
