LSG provides medical bulletin on Rishabh Pant’s injury ahead of clash with PBKS

Rishabh Pant, the LSG captain who left the field after taking a hit on the forearm during their last match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and did not take the field, is reportedly available for the next match.

Lucknow Super Giants had a promising start to their campaign, especially with their players in good form against Delhi Capitals, even though their batsmen struggled to fire in the tournament. But that’s been the story for the last five games, and LSG’s hitters have yet to find their rhythm.

Adding to their worries, injuries have kept players out of their camp, and their hearts would have skipped a beat when Rishabh Pant, the captain, had to leave the field due to a heavy blow to his forearm while facing a Josh Hazlewood delivery.

Rishabh Pant is available to play tomorrow; LSG coach offers massive update

Lucknow Super Giants would breathe a sigh of relief as their captain and star batsman Rishabh Pant is reported to be fine and ready to continue in the next game against Punjab Kings. The match marks a massive competition in rivalry week, as the two highest-paid captains face each other.

“He is perfectly fine, fit enough to play tomorrow,” Arun told reporters ahead of the PBKS match, which will be played in the afternoon. The wicketkeeper batsman played a good innings in LSG’s first win against Sunrisers Hyderabad but since then, his bat has been silent.

Our biggest challenge would be to prepare everyone for the match- Bharat Arun

LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun was happy with the important role his players played in the team’s limited success and also stated that he is happy that so many young players have returned positively after injury.

“Yes, there’s always room for improvement, but I think we’re pretty happy with his performance.” “I am very happy with his progress and I firmly believe that coaching begins only when you connect with each individual. Because each individual is different,” explained Arun.

He added: “And how quickly I connect with these players is my challenge. And as far as that goes, I feel like I’ve connected well with them. And every player is different. So I think what they want from me for every player would be different. That’s how I address their needs.”

What has been LSG’s biggest concern in IPL 2026?

Lucknow Super Giants might be worried about the form of their batsmen as the likes of Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran have not played a single good innings to give their team some joy.

However, concern has increased as players have been ruled out with injuries. This has been common with pacers in the side and therefore, despite being made up of eight pacers, they were only able to include a handful of them. Mohsin Khan was injured after just one match this season.

“Our biggest challenge would be to get everyone ready for the match. So whoever plays has confidence in doing well. Their plan has to be very flexible. So sometimes, it’s like any other strategy. Even in war, you have this defense and attack,” said the LSG bowling coach.
