The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has entered match week 6 as Saturday was a double-header, and in the evening match, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. Both teams came into this match after winning their respective last matches. SRH beat CSK by 10 runs.
Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to play first. The team made two changes, with Mathew Short replacing Akeal Hosein, and Khaleel Ahmed was forced out due to injury, with Mukesh Choudhary replacing him in the playing XI. For the Orange Army, it was Dilshan Madhushanka who replaced David Payne and replaced Harsh Dubey.
IPL 2026: SRH vs CSK Match Result:
After being put in to bat, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got off to an exceptional start, with the latter taking the CSK bowlers and hitting them all over the park. He reached fifty in just 14 deliveries. Head was the first to be dismissed with a score of 23, and Ishan Kishan did not take a shot and fell behind without scoring.
Abhishek was firing away and played a ferocious knock of 59 off 22, with Jamie Overton picking the big wicket. Then wickets continued to fall from 74/0, SRH went down to 112/4. Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy then tried to form a partnership but Reddy was dismissed by Overton for 12 runs.
Klaasen scored fifty off 32 balls in the match. It was his third fifty of the season, and once again, he took command in the mid overs, as wickets continued to fall. He stood strong at one end, and Salil Arora also played his part as the former scored 59 off 39 balls.
Arora was also dismissed for 13 runs with that wicket; They could only manage a score of 194/9 in their 20 overs and felt they were 20-30 runs short with the kind of start they had.
Coming out, CSK opener Sanju Samson was dismissed early but Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre were hitting the SRH bowlers all over the park as the latter was the aggressor. They got fifty in just 3.1 overs; However, Mhatre injured his hamstring and in the next ball he was dismissed for 30 runs and in the next ball he was followed by captain Ruturaj.
Sarfaraz Khan and Mathew Short then put together a 46-run partnership when the former was dismissed after playing 25 off 19 balls. CSK were reduced to 112/4 but Short and Shivam Dube, with Short dismissed for 34 runs, followed Dube. CSK could only manage a score of 184/8.
