Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah may have to wait to take charge of the International Cricket Council (ICC). According to Cricket Pakistan reports, it is learned that his appointment could be delayed by a month.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah was all set to take charge of ICC from December 1. However, it was decided to grant current president Greg Barclay a one-month extension to ensure a smooth transition in the ICC leadership.

It would have been difficult for Jay Shah to resolve the matter soon after taking over as ICC president. The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is therefore expected to take charge of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from next month.

The PCB is likely to ask the ICC to ensure that all ICC tournaments in India are played till 2031 in a hybrid model. Apart from this, “Pakistan also wants the ICC board to increase its share of financial cycle revenue from 5.75 percent.”
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in February-March next year. With all the hype surrounding the conclusion of the tournament, ICC is expected to announce the tournament schedule in the coming days. The Indian national cricket team is likely to play all its matches in the UAE and a semi-final and final are also expected to be held in the Gulf country.
