Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Kagiso Rabada has highly praised Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav for his performances on the course. Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He feels the youngster understands his role and the Indian selectors might look at him for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
It has been the early days of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Mayank Yadav already seems to be the find of the tournament. The Lucknow Super Giants pacer has been nothing short of exceptional in the league and has put on a display of high-class fast bowling.
What has caught the attention of many has been its ability to consistently clock 155 kmph. Not just the pace, but Mayank Yadav has been troubling the batsmen with his line and lengths and is making sure to help his team win the games by sweeping away the opponents.
Mayank Yadav made his debut for Lucknow Super Giants in the game against Punjab Kings. He made sure to leave an immediate impact and came back with the figures of 3/27. He came to bowl when his team looked down and dusted themselves off. But he changed the course of her game with his spell.
In the next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mayank Yadav wreaked havoc on the opponent’s batting lineup. He troubled the Australian batsmen with his raw pace and returned with figures of 3/14. He won the Man of the Match award and became the first player to win two awards in his first two league games.
Kagiso Rabada, considered one of the best bowlers in the world, was in awe of Mayank Yadav. The South African pacer highlighted the lines and lengths of the LSG pacer and believes that the young Delhi pacer has a lot of clarity in his mind. Speaking to PTI, he explained:
“It has something that cannot be bought and it is a raw rhythm. That’s exactly what he’s exploiting and exploiting extremely well. The reach he achieves, his plan are clear and now the batsmen will be aware of what he can bring to the party.
“But it’s pretty obvious he has immense pace and looks like he can control where he wants to play. When you have rhythm and control too, and he understands his role. So when you have clarity, it is no surprise that he is putting in performances like that.”

Kagiso Rabada believes that Mayank Yadav looks attractive at the moment and the BCCI selectors would be keeping a close eye on him. The Punjab Kings fast bowler feels his Lucknow Super Giants counterpart could be a possible pick for the T20 World Cup. He added:
“At the moment, he looks attractive and I have no doubt that the selectors will see him as a potential guy in the team, but that is none of my concern. As I understand it, he will definitely be considered a possible choice.”
Mayank Yadav will next be seen in action when Lucknow Super Giants take on Gujarat Titans in their next game on April 7.
