Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Rohit Sharma has been making headlines since the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 began. The relationship between the franchise and the Indian captain does not seem to be good since the opener was dismissed of the leadership.
Since then, there have been many rumors about Rohit Sharma leaving the Mumbai Indians after the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Various reports have also suggested Rohit’s move to another franchise or his entry in the auction.
However, since the last few days, things have become more prominent, especially ahead of Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Mumbai Indians. On the eve of the match, Rohit Sharma was seen chatting with KKR coach Abhishek Nayar.
The conversation seemed to be related to Rohit Sharma’s relationship with the Mumbai Indians. The opening batter was heard saying that everything he did as a temple was changing. But he doesn’t care now, since it’s the last time he’s with them. He stated:
“Ek ek cheez is changing… Woh unke upaar hai… Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai (Everything is changing one by one… It’s up to them… Like Whatever, but he is my brother at home, he is the temple that I built.”
Rohit Sharma dropped another big hint about leaving Mumbai Indians after IPL 2024. During the rain break in the ongoing game, the senior opening batsman was seen sitting inside the Kolkata Knight Riders dressing room. The batsman was seen having fun chatting with players of the team.
What caught the attention of many was that Rohit Sharma was not sitting in the Mumbai Indians dressing room. The first batsman was seen having a long chat with the Kolkata Knight Riders players, who were listening attentively to the batsman.

I would love to see him in KKR – Wasim Akram on Rohit Sharma
Recently, Wasim Akram spoke about Rohit Sharma’s future with Mumbai Indians. He stated that the batsman will not play for the team next year and might play for Kolkata Knight Riders next year. He stated:
“I have a feeling he won’t be with Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see him at KKR. Imagine him open there, Gauti as a mentor, Iyer as captain. They will have very strong batting, on that wicket (Eden Gardens). He bats very good on any wicket, he is a great player.
In the ongoing IPL 2024, Rohit Sharma was easy on the eyes in the first half of the season. However, in the last few games of the tournament he has struggled to get going and has scored just 33 runs in the last five innings.
