Aakash Chopra and Rinku Singh

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra wants batting great Rinku Singh to bat more frequently from now on in IPL 2024 to boost his own chances for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rinku Singh, who features in the middle and lower-middle order for Kolkata and India, does not have many balls to face in the IPL 2024 season. The left-handed batsman’s chances have become limited due to the presence of Andre Russell and Shreyas Iyer in the middle order. With Russell’s form on his side, Rinku hasn’t been able to hit as much as he did last season.

Rinku, whose hands are tied by the KKR leadership

Although Rinku Singh has managed to score 107 runs in 7 matches for the Knight Riders, a solid and telling hit from his bat is yet to come. The 26-year-old, who made his India debut in August 2023 following his performance in the IPL last season, will be thinking about breaking into the Indian team for the T20 WC.

But in a situation like the one he is in right now, it is almost as if the management has tied Rinku Singh’s hands. But in fact, Rinku is just a few steps away from securing that final spot in the Indian team, but that depends on the opportunities he gets from KKR.

Aakash Chopra says Rinku Singh must get runs, else Shivam Dube will eat his place

While speaking in his latest YouTube video, Aakash Chopra said for the first time that Rinku Singh might not get a chance to bat later tonight against Punjab Kings. But Chopra revealed his greed to see Rinku bat more and score more runs to secure his place in the Indian team for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Aakash Chopra also warned Rinku Singh that CSKShivam Dube is playing very well and the latter could take away his place for the World Cup. Lastly, Chopra admitted that Rinku doesn’t have many options left but to come out with a big hit sometime from now.

“Here too he could bat less. However, I am looking forward to Rinku being able to bat and score runs. Since the World Cup is approaching, I want runs to continuously come from Rinku Singh’s bat. The number for which he will be fighting , Shivam Dube is already playing very well there. As much as I love Shivam Dube, I love Rinku Singh so much.”

KKR aims to reach 12 points

Meanwhile, the Riders of the Knights of Calcutta They will aim to reach 12 points later tonight when they host the Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens. KKR had won their previous match against RCB in spectacular fashion. The Knight Riders were actually very close to losing the match but luck favored them as Shreyas Iyer’s team finally claimed victory by just 1 run.
