Rachin Ravindra once again failed to score much in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 as he was dismissed cheaply in the ongoing game between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings in Lucknow.

The New Zealand star has bagged his first IPL contract with Chennai Super Kings for the ongoing season. With compatriot Devon Conway sidelined with an injury, Rachin Ravindra got the chance to open the innings for CSK from the first game.

He started his IPL 2024 campaign on a promising note by playing quick knocks of 37 and 46 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans respectively. However, he has since failed to impress with the bat. Those two blows were followed by the blows of 2, 12, 15 and 21.

And in the ongoing match against Lucknow Super Giants, Rachin Ravindra couldn’t even open his account when Mohsin Khan dismissed him for a golden duck with a beauty. The left-handed batsman was on strike for the first ball of Mohsin Khan’s second delivery.

The LSG pacer bowled a full delivery that tipped inside and came back at the last moment. Rachin Ravindra wanted to drive the ball but was beaten from all sides due to ball movement at the last moment. The ball ended up crashing into the stumps.

Talking about the game, CSK were 13 for 1 in the third over at the time of writing this report. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane batted in the middle order for the reigning champions. Earlier, LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first.

“We will bowl first. It looks like a good wicket, dew has not been a big factor. Let’s hope it remains good for 40 overs. We would like to know what we are chasing. We didn’t make any mistakes. The last match against KKR was a big defeat. Still, I know we’re halfway there, but if we panic, that’s not what I like. Raul said.
