MS Dhoni and his Chennai Super Kings teammates are currently in Mumbai for their next match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. The reigning champions will face Mumbai Indians in their next match. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday (April 13) at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium.

And before the match, MS Dhoni had a special reunion with the coveted World Cup trophy at the Wankhede Stadium. The former India captain had led India to their second ODI World Cup title in 2011 at the Wankhede Stadium. It was India’s first World Cup win in ODIs since 1983.

The Men in Blue have not won the trophy since 2011. In 2023, they qualified for the finals under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, but ended up losing the decider against Australia. The official Instagram page of the Indian cricket team posted a beautiful photo of MS Dhoni touching the World Cup with the caption: “MS Dhoni 🤝 World Cup Trophy. Made for each other❤️.”

CSK and MI expect crucial win:

Talking about IPL 2024, both CSK and MI will be looking for a crucial victory when they lock horns in this mouth-watering clash. CSK have won three of their first five matches and are currently third in the points table.

They started their season with wins over Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans before suffering defeats against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team returned to winning ways with a victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in their last match. CSK are yet to win a game away from home this season and will look to break the trend on Sunday.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, won two of their first five games. Under new captain Hardik Pandya, the five-time IPL champions started their season with three straight losses.

However, they have bounced back in style by recording two emphatic wins in their last two home games. With momentum on their side, MI will be looking for another win as they look to increase their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
