Mumbai batsman Musheer Khan scored a century against Vidarbha in the ongoing final of Ranji Trophy 2024. Musheer Khan scored a century in 255 balls. With high society he also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

With his century, Musheer Khan took Mumbai to a huge lead over Vidarbha in the final of Ranji Trophy 2024. Mumbai took a lead of over 450 runs in the second innings and are on their way to a big win in the match.

Musheer played a fabulous 134-run partnership with captain Ajinkya Rahane in the second innings. Opener Prithvi Shaw (11) and Bhupen Lalwani (18) fell little at first. However, Khan allowed the team to achieve a dominant total on the scoreboard.

Musheer Khan breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s record

With his century in the 2024 Ranji Trophy final, Musheer Khan has broken Sachin Tendulkar’s record. At 19 years and 14 days, he has become the youngest batsman from the Mumbai team to score a ton in the Ranji Trophy final.

In the 1994-95 season, Sachin Tendulkar scored a century in the Ranji Trophy final for Mumbai against Punjab. Tendulkar was a month shy of his 22nd birthday at the time. Notably, Tendulkar scored two centuries in the match to lead the team to victory.

Meanwhile, Vidarbha opted to bowl first in the 2024 Ranji Trophy final. Batting first, Mumbai were bowled out for 224 in the first innings. Musheer Khan came out with 6 runs in the first innings. Vidarbha later made 105 outs in the first innings.

Musheer Khan is Mumbai’s top pacer

Apart from Musheer Khan, Ajinkya Rahane (73) and Shreyas Iyer (95) also smashed impressive knocks for Mumbai in the second innings. At the end of the second session on Day 3, Mumbai reached 349-5 with a lead of 468 runs.

Musheer has shown a wonderful batting show in Ranji Trophy 2024. In 5 innings, he has scored more than 430 runs at an impressive average of 144+. He has destroyed 2 tons and 1 fifty. Earlier, the right-handed batsman hit a double ton in the quarterfinals. He is also Mumbai’s top running back.

Mumbai crushed Tamil Nadu in semi-finals

Meanwhile, Mumbai reached the final of Ranji Trophy 2024 after crushing Tamil Nadu in the semi-final. They had earlier beaten Baroda in the quarter-finals. During the group stage, Mumbai finished first in the Elite Group B points table.

Mumbai have won Ranji Trophy titles a record 41 times in 47 seasons. They are on course for a big win in the 2024 season. They last won the title in the 2016 season. Vidarbha has won titles twice – 2018 and 2019. Previously, they defeated Madhya Pradesh in the semi-final to book a place in the final.
