The former RCB coach talked about the best higher order in IPL 2025.
The former RCB coach Mike Hesson firmly believes that Gujarat Titans (GT) has one of the best three in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In his series of previous views of IPL 2025, HESSON qualified the trio of Gujarat Titans of Jos Buttler, Shubman Girill and Sai Sudharsan as formidable.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Hesson explained that the GT trio has a sound technique and power, and are proven artists.
“I think that, probably, a real positive is that it is one of the three excellent (Shubman, Buttler and Sai). You know, that has everything, which has power, that has a technique, which has a large volume of three players,” said HESSON.
Hesson added that Gujarat Titans can depend on their first three to provide good beginnings consistently. He believes that if the other batters can play a good support role, then GT can be difficult to handle.
“So, I think GT can trust those three to establish the platform for most games. And then, you have the power in the back. We only need this type of four and five to stop and then you have a very good top seven,” he added.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have Virat Kohli and Phil Salt at the top, with Devdutt Padikkal or Rajat Patidar in number three. The Mumbai Indians could have Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton and one from Suryakumar Yadav or Tilak Varma. Gujarat Titans simply seem to play them based on pure quality.
The GT Captain Gill has more than 3,200 races at the IPL with an average of 37.83 and 135 attack rate. Buttler has accumulated more than 3,500 races at an average of 38.10 while hitting 147. Sudharsan average 47 in the league, after having scored 1034 races at 139 attack rate. The trio covers most of the batting metrics, which makes them the best in the competition.
