"Pant is a rubbish player.": Fans furious after Rishabh Pant departs for another low score in LSG vs RR clash

Lucknow Super Giants captain and the highest-paid cricketer in IPL history Rishabh Pant once again went for a duck, that too while chasing a minor total of 160 runs against Rajasthan Royals on their own turf.

The Lucknow Super Giants had lost three games in a row and had to bring out something special at the Ekana. Their players once again did the trick with the ball, especially the three pacers Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav, who picked two wickets each.

They helped LSG restrict RR’s dangerous batting line-up to a score of just 160, while their top order was dismissed within the powerplay. Had it not been for Mayank Yadav’s last 20 runs against Ravindra Jadeja, the Royals could not have posted a total of 159 runs.

Rishabh Pant leaves after meaningless shot at Nandre Burger

Lucknow Super Giants batsman Rishabh Pant has been dismissed once again on an occasion when he had a chance to take his team to the line. Pant came in to bat after Ayush Badoni was run out for a duck. However, Pant played a series of irresponsible shots that never saw his innings run.

Rishabh attempted to bowl a short-arm shot towards the mid-wicket boundary and instead returned the ball to RR keeper Dhruv Jurel, who completed a simple catch. Pant departed after three balls for a duck, pushing his team into further trouble.

Rishabh Pant’s form has been very bad this season. He has accumulated 147 runs in 7 innings with just a half-century. In the last seven matches, he has a 7 against DC, 68* wins against Sunrisers Hyderabad, 10 against KKR, 18 against GT, 1 against RCB and lastly a 43 against PBKS in the last highest scoring match.

Justin Langer comes off the bench in complete disgust after Pant’s dismissal

Rishabh Pant’s meaningless shot selection and carelessness at such crucial moments of the game have been frustrating for everyone. The LSG owner has been seen on multiple occasions speaking to Pant about these kinds of unnecessary risks that have cost the team in the long run.

Due to his poor shot selection this time in the very short chase against Rajasthan Royals, head coach Justin Langer stood up and left the bench. He seemed visibly frustrated by the captain’s misconduct.

It is now up to players like Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran, the two experienced campaigners who would have to keep their nerve and take the game as deep as possible.
