When it comes to giving a proper answer, there are very few cricketers in the world today who are better than Australia captain Pat Cummins. Time and again, the star bowler has proven that he is one of the best in the business when it comes to giving brilliant responses.

He was at his best when Australia were in England for the Ashes last year. Australia faced harsh criticism from the English media following Alex Carey’s controversial sacking of Jonny Bairstow.

Pat Cummins, however, never allowed the English media to emerge victorious. In one of the press conferences during the Ashes, he was asked if Australia would resort to underarm bowling. In response, the Australian leader hilariously said:

β€œIt depends on how flat the wickets become. It could be an option to turn to.”

He also delivered some iconic lines during the ODI World Cup in India, where he led his team to glory. Pat Cummins showed off the witty side of him once again and this time he confronted a fan on Instagram. He recently posted a photo of him and his wife on the social media platform. In the comments section, the fan wrote: “I am Indian, I love you, your wife.”

Pat Cummins noticed the comment and decided to react, albeit hilariously, as he wrote: β€œI’ll pass it on to her!”

A memorable 2023 for Pat Cummins:

Pat Cummins enjoyed a stellar 2023 as he excelled as a bowler and as a captain. While not many expected him to do well as captain, the Australian star proved his critics wrong and showed that fast bowlers can also become good leaders.

Under his captaincy in 2023, Australia won the World Test Championship by beating India in the final before retaining the Ashes after drawing the series 2-2 in England. This was followed by a surprising World Cup triumph, where Australia beat India in the final. Last month, he won the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. The right-arm pacer was also named captain of the ICC Test Team of the Year.
