KL Rahul reveals why is Mohsin Khan not playing

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be without their key fast bowler Mohsin Khan for the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday (April 2).

The left-arm pacer played in the first two games of IPL 2024. In the first game against Rajasthan Royals, he had a poor outing as he gave away 45 runs and picked up 1 wicket. However, he bounced back in style by playing a key role in LSG’s 21-run win over Punjab Kings last week.

Mohsin Khan picked up the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Sam Curran in consecutive deliveries in the 17th over of the game to put his side in the driving seat. He finished the game with figures of 2 for 34 and LSG won the game and opened their account in IPL 2024.

Mohsin Khan not available:

With Mohsin Khan in good form, LSG would have loved to have his services against RCB. However, the left-arm pacer was not available for selection as captain KL Rahul revealed the reason for the draw. The wicketkeeper-batsman revealed that the pacer was lost due to a back injury and was replaced by Yash Thakur in the playing eleven.

“It’s a little different. I’m used to coming here and walking into the home locker room, but it’s a little different when I walk into the away locker room. We have shown character in both games. Everyone is contributing and that gives you a lot of confidence, we have to keep doing it and keep improving,” Rahul said.

“Some of the boys have improved their skills since the first season, the combination is coming together well as a team. Now we need to make some runs up the board and put pressure on the opposition. More than the victory, everyone was talking about Mayank’s pace, he has been with us since the first season and was unlucky to miss last season due to injury. Just one change: Mohsin Khan has back pain and Yash Thakur comes in,” he added.

Talking about the toss, RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first. LSG comes into this game on the back of a win and will look to make the most of the momentum. On the other hand, RCB lost their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders and will be desperate to turn things around and get back to winning ways.
