The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team of the India national cricket team for the 2023 Asian Games. Maharashtra and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as the captain of the Indian team.

The 2023 Asian Games will take place in China from September 23 to October 8 and will coincide with the 2023 World Cup. The men’s cricket competition will take place from September 28 to October 8 in a T20 format.

The competition will coincide with the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will take place in India from October 5 to November 19. As a result, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to send a second team for the tournament.

Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma named in India’s 2023 Asian Games squad

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who leads Maharashtra in domestic cricket, will lead the young Indian team at the 2023 Asian Games. The 26-year-old has been a consistent performer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the MS-led Chennai Super Kings Dhoni. (CSK).

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star Rinku Singh along with Jitesh Sharma also made it to the team after missing out on the squad for the West Indies tour. The two batsman-wickets for the team are Jitesh Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh of the Punjab Kings.

The side’s pace department consists of Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar and Shivam Mavi. On the spin bowling side, India has Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Ravi Bishnoi.

The BCCI has also appointed a waiting list of players that has consistent artists like Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda and Sai Sudarsan.
