Sanju Samson hit a marvellous ton in Hyderabad.

It was a typical Sanju Samson coup where all the players disappeared, no matter what they tried during their stay and how many times they changed their plans.

Hyderabad witnessed a special one from Sanju Samson during the third T20I between India and Bangladesh, where he was at full strength. When he is in the mood, he plays all those shots you would want from a batsman, most of them leave you in awe.

It was a typical Sanju Samson coup where all the players disappeared, no matter what they tried during their stay and how many times they changed their plans. He hit as many as 19 boundaries, including fours and sixes, during his 47-ball stay, and just when I thought nothing could get better than this, he proved me wrong with his next shot.

There were many outrageous moments during his knock but the best part probably came during the 10th over when he smashed as many as five sixes off Rishad Hossain in consecutive deliveries to take 30 runs from the over. It was a hit of the highest order, and you also have to blame the pitcher for being predictable and one-dimensional with his plans and throwing everything in his box.

Barring the first delivery, a point, Hossain bowled long drives and was rightly taken to the cleaners. That turned out to be the most expensive over of the game, and Rishad did not bowl again in the match.

Sanju Samson fulfilled his mentor’s wish by hitting five sixes

After the conclusion of the match, Murali Kartik, host of the post-match conference, asked Sanju Samson about those five sixes. The batsman revealed that he had been trying for a year and his coach felt that he could hit five sixes, so he finally got his wish.

“My mentor kept telling me, ‘You have to hit 5 sixes in an over, I’m waiting for it.’ So I’ve been chasing him for the last year and it happened today,” Samson exclaimed after the game.

His mentor would be the happiest to see Samson beat him up. He must have seen something in his batting that created such a huge demand.

Samson won the Man of the Match award for his blitzkrieg effort. It was a perfect wicket for his shooting expertise, and after making a couple of starts early in the series, he finally turned one into a huge figure to help India complete a clean sweep over Bangladesh.
