Lucknow Super Giants will be without their fast bowler Mohsin Khan for their crucial match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday (May 8).

The Lucknow-based team will be desperate to win again tonight to bolster their playoff chances after suffering a crushing defeat in the last match. LSG suffered a 98-run defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in their last outing.

The tough defeat has also dealt a blow to their net run rate. LSG will not only look for a win against SRH but will also look to win by a good margin to improve the net run rate. However, they will have to do it without Mohsin Khan as he was not available for the match.

Speaking during the toss, LSG captain KL Rahul confirmed that the pacer is sidelined with an injury. While he did not reveal the exact injury, it could be the head injury he suffered in the last game while playing. Mohsin Khan suffered a concussion after hitting his head on the ground and was replaced by Yudhvir Singh midway through KKR’s innings.

“We will bat first. That (the pitch) plus a couple of games that have been played here. It’s hard to forget how important this game is for both sides, but we have played enough cricket,” Rahul said.

“We will concentrate on one thing at a time, first batting well and putting runs on the board. Playing at home makes a difference but we play so much cricket that we know what the conditions will be like. Quinton comes in, Mohsin misses out and there are a few other changes “he added.

All-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham replaced Mohsin in the LSG playing XI for the ongoing game. It will be Gowtham’s first game of the season. Mohsin’s absence will be a big blow for LSG. The left-arm pacer has taken nine wickets so far and has given LSG good starts in the powerplay on several occasions this season.
