Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Aiden Markram performed a strange delivery in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Qualifier 2 of the tournament between the teams is underway at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Sunrisers Hyderabad spinners are wreaking havoc on the Rajasthan Royals batsmen in the ongoing game. They made the most of the conditions and put the Sanju Samson-led team under tremendous pressure at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

With conditions offering spin and bounce, Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma have been brilliant. The duo have contributed wickets at regular intervals and put their team on top in the all-important Qualifier 2 of the tournament.

Since the conditions were favorable for the spinners, SRH captain Pat Cummins also introduced Aiden Markram into the game. When he went into attack in the 13th minute, amidst all the seriousness, there was also a moment of laughter in the game.

On the second ball of the over, Aiden Markram bowled a horrendous delivery that left many divided. The South African spinner delivered the ball to short fine leg as the ball slipped out of his hand and turned well to Shimron Hetmyer and was nowhere near the cut off.

Here is the video:

This left even Kevin Pietersen, who was commentating, divided. The former England batsman called it the worst ball he had ever seen in his cricketing life. However, Aiden Markram made sure not to let Rajasthan Royals come out on top after his effort.

Aiden Markram on the next ball, which was a free hit, made sure not to lose a single run. The all-rounder bowled a full delivery outside off which spun and Shimron Hetmyer tried to play the fly ball inside out and missed the ball.

SRH vs RR: Abhishek Sharma eliminates Shimron Hetmyer

After Aiden Markram’s brilliant over that put pressure on Shimron Hetmyer, Abhishek Sharma made sure to capitalize on that and took the wicket of the Rajasthan Royals batsman, who looked menacing with the bat.

Abhishek Sharma bowled a flat length delivery outside off stump. Shimron Hetmyer went on the defensive to hit and missed completely. The ball, which was flat and fast, crashed into the off stump and sent the batsman packing.

Hetmyer finished with a 4-run inning. 10 balls. With their wicket, Rajasthan Royals reeled at 92/6 and moved a little closer to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
