Sufiyan Muqeem dismissed Abhishek Sharma after dismissing him on the first delivery of the seventh over during the match between India A and Pakistan A in the Emerging Asia Cup. Emotions are at a peak every time these two teams play, resulting in such incidents on the field.

Sufiyan bowled a longer delivery on the line outside off stump, to which Abhishek tried to hit towards the cover region but could only reach the leading edge of the bat. The ball flew towards the point where Qasim Akram took a good catch to dismiss a dangerous Abhishek.

When the fielder caught the ball, Sufiyan looked at the batsman and put a finger to his lips before signaling him to leave with the same finger. The batsman did not react and returned to the pavilion as Pakistan A got their first wicket.

India A opened their campaign with a nervy victory

Although it was just the emerging tournament, India A vs Pakistan A lived up to the task and provided an exciting experience for the viewers. After winning the toss, India A elected to bat first and posted 183/8 in their first innings.

Captain Tilak Varma (44) was the top scorer while Abhishek Sharma (25) and Prabhsimran Singh (36) also played decent knocks. Sufiyan Muqeem was the pick of the Pakistan A bowler, snaring two wickets for 28 runs in his four-over spell.

Pakistan A didn’t get off to the best start but there were a couple of good partnerships that kept them in the fight. Arafat Minhas (41) was the top scorer, while Yasir Khan (33) and Qasim Akram (27) also played good hands.

However, they ultimately fell short by seven runs as India A held their nerve during the final moments. It was a good match, full of quality performances from both sides.
