Tayla Vlaeminck's career-best mark helps Australia complete 3-0 sweep

Australia 155 for 6 (Healy 45, McGrath 43*, Nahida 3-31) beat Bangladesh 78 (Nigar 32, Vlaeminck 3-12, Wareham 2-1) by 77 runs

Tayla Vlaeminck capped her comeback tour in impressive fashion as Australia concluded a successful visit to Bangladesh with a 77-run win in the third T20I.

Fast bowler Vlaeminck took a career-best 3 for 12 in her four overs as Bangladesh were dismissed for 78 after Australia posted 155 for 6. The victory ensured Australia completed a clean sweep of the three ODIs. and the three T20Is on his tour.

It was Vlaeminck’s only second game after two years away from the team due to a recurring stress fracture in his foot and then shoulder surgery. He removed Ritu Moni in the fourth over and came back to claim Fahima Khatun and Shorifa Khatun in the space of three balls in the 11th over.

Australia’s bowlers shared the other success and all seven used claimed at least one wicket.

Captain Alyssa Healy steered Australia to victory at the start of the tour finale with a 29-ball 45, while Tahlia McGrath scored an unbeaten 29-ball 43 batting at number 5.

The visitors returned to their more conventional batting line-up for the final outing after experimenting in the second match. But Healy and Beth Mooney could not escape in the powerplay and Bangladesh pulled away to leave them 98 for 5 in the 16th over with Mooney, Ellyse Perry and Ash Gardner held below a strike rate of 80.

However, McGrath and Grace Harris ensured a powerful finish by adding 57 off 27 balls, giving Australia more than enough to defend.

Australia now have a long break from international action before facing New Zealand in September ahead of the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh.
