Lucknow Super Giants got off to a horrible start with the bat as opener Quinton de Kock (19) lost his wicket leading to the team’s collapse. They lost wickets in quick succession even though KL Rahul (39) played a vital hand in opening the innings for his team. Even impact player Deepak Hooda failed to make a mark with the bat.
Lucknow Super Giants were reeling at 94/7 and looked like they would come out with a low total. But Ayush Badoni (55*) fought back and got them out of trouble. Arshad Khan (20*) supported him as the duo powered their team to a total of 167. For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of three for 20.
The chase did not go in favor of the Delhi Capitals as they lost David Warner early. But after that, Prithvi Shaw (32) played some accurate shots and kept his team in the hunt. Jake Fraser-McGurk (55) stole the show with his innings on his debut. The batsman hit a brave half-century with the bat and took the game away from the opposition.
Rishabh Pant (41) supported him well and the duo added. 77 runs for the third wicket and Delhi chased down the target with six wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare to win their second game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
