A disappointed Shubman Gill let out his emotions after failing to capitalize on his start in the ongoing game between Titans of Gujarat and supergiants of Lucknow at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Batting first, LSG posted a competitive total of 163/5 in the allotted 20 overs after their captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. LSG were reeling at 18/2 in the third over before Marcus Stoinis’ half-century guided them to the good total.

He shared a crucial 73-run stand with Rahul, who scored 33. Nicholas Pooran (32*) and Ayush Badoni (20) then helped LSG finish with a total of over 160.

In response, GT made a good start. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan added 54 runs for the first wicket of the powerplay. The GT captain was cautious with the bat in the powerplay as he scored just 19 runs off 20 balls with the help of two fours. And though he would have liked to break the shackles early, he couldn’t do so when Yash Thakur castled him on the last ball of the powerplay.

It was a full, straight delivery from Thakur and Shubman Gill flicked it. However, he failed to make any contact with the ball. As a result, the ball went past his bat before crashing into the stumps. Shubman Gill was absolutely furious with himself after the dismissal and his reaction said it all. He let out a loud roar before leaving the field.
