Rishabh Pant,

India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant could return much sooner than expected. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been working hard in the training session and is ensuring that he returns to competitive cricket as soon as possible.

Since then, Rishabh Pant met with a tragic accident and has been updating his fans on his progress. The wicketkeeper-batsman is almost in top form and recently there have been reports suggesting that the BCCI is looking into the IPL window for the left-handed comeback.

Rishabh Pant on Monday (February 12) shared a fitness update about himself. He made a comparison with the time when he walked with the help of crutches. The wicketkeeper-batsman also posted a motivational message for himself and uploaded the video on his Instagram and Twitter account.

He stated: “It seems like you forgot. Let me remind you… Do you remember when it was difficult and overwhelming and you felt afraid and you still walked alone? You didn’t have the answers then and you couldn’t see the way and you wanted to give up? Still you kept going. Never forget that.”

In the clip, Rishabh Pant can be seen doing running exercises without any discomfort. The wicketkeeper-batsman was also seen running, which is nothing but an indication that he is on the verge of achieving full fitness from him.

In another clip that has gone viral on the internet, Rishabh Pant can also be seen batting in the nets. The wicketkeeper-batsman is seen taking a great shot but misses the ball. This gives an indication that he too has started batting at full speed.

Rishabh Pant is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The goalkeeper-batsman has been doing different types of exercises for the last few months. He underwent knee surgery after the accident and underwent several exercises to regain his full fitness.

Rishabh Pant very confident he will be fine to play: DC head coach Ricky Ponting

Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting recently shared an update on Rishabh Pant’s game in the IPL. He said that the keeper-batsman is confident of playing, but he is not sure whether he will be able to retain wickets or not.

Ricky Ponting praised Rishabh Pant as a dynamic player and stated that the keeper-batsman is ready to bat at number 4. Talking about the same, he explained:

“Rishabh is very confident that he will be fit to play. We’re still not quite sure in what capacity. You would have seen all the social media stuff, it is up and running and working well. But we are also only six weeks away from the first game. So we’re not sure if we’ll take it off this year.

“But I guarantee that if I ask him now he’ll say, ‘I’m playing every game, keeping in every game and batting at No. 4.’ That’s him, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed. He is a very dynamic player. He obviously he’s our captain. “We missed him so much last year.”

If fully fit, Rishabh Pant could even captain Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024. The tournament is reportedly all set to take place from March 22.
