Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk oozes class with the bat in the game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Jake Fraser-McGurk made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and made sure to make an immediate impact with the bat. Not only this, the young Australian batsman made sure to lead Delhi Capitals to their second win of the season.

Jake Fraser-McGurk started his innings with the two sixes and then never looked back. He played sensational innings for his team. What caught the attention of many was that when he struggled a little, he did not lose his cool and made sure to stay there and bring his team close to the objective.

One of the highlights of his innings came during Krunal Pandya’s over, which came during the 13th over of the game. The batsman hit three consecutive sixes to start the replay. He taunted the bowler and ran for his half-century.

Jake Fraser-McGurk started the over by clearing his front leg and flicking it towards mid-wicket. In the next ball, he hit the ball over extra deep cover to reach the maximum. He then followed it up with a golf swing in the third ball of the over to complete a hat-trick of sixes.

Jake Fraser-McGurk spoke about his innings with the bat and said he was looking forward to giving it a try. He spoke about his batting and stated that he loved the atmosphere while playing in the IPL. While talking about his departure for Delhi Capitals, he explained:

“I spent the last 5 or 6 games on the sideline and I was looking forward to giving it a go. It was more about trying not to swing too hard, trying to find the middle of the bat and that’s what I’ve been trying to do over the last 12 months I loved the coverage, nothing better than hitting the offside.

“It’s something I’m still learning and doing, hitting outside of the power play and I’ll get better by playing more games. I’m really happy to be out there, this is a different world, I heard about it but I experienced it.” “It’s an incredible time to come to India.”

Delhi Capitals moved to ninth place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table. 2024. They now have two victories under their belt. The Rishabh Pant-led team will next be seen in action when they take on the Gujarat Titans on April 17.
