MS Dhoni has been part of the CSK training camp with other CSK teammates for the past few weeks. During the training, CSK players did many net sessions. Now, a video of MS Dhoni is doing the rounds on social media where he is seen imitating Ravindra Jadeja during the net sessions.

Jadeja led Chennai Super Kings to victory with a boundary off the last ball last season. After leading the team to victory, Jadeja ran towards his teammates with both hands raised. Dhoni copied the same style of celebration during the training session and it didn’t take long for fans to notice the same. Check out the video below.

Ravindra Jadeja gave a stunning climax to the IPL 2023 final last year. The left-handed batsman hit a six and a boundary off the last two balls as CSK needed 10 runs for victory. With the victory, the men in yellow clinched the fifth IPL title to equal Bombay Indians‘ record.

MS Dhoni gave captaincy to Jadeja in the 2022 season

Interestingly, MS Dhoni also handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja in IPL 2022. However, after some initial consecutive defeats and Jadeja’s expulsion from the league due to injury, Dhoni resumed the captaincy. Later, he also led the franchise to the trophy in IPL 2023.

MS Dhoni’s resignation as captain has also led to speculation that this could be the last season for the CSK legend. However, rumors about him retiring from the IPL have also come in the last few seasons but he returned. Therefore, it is very unpredictable whether Dhoni will retire after the 2024 IPL.

Some new faces in the captaincy in IPL 2024

Meanwhile, apart from Dhoni, there will be new faces in a few other franchises in IPL 2024. Hardik Pandya replaces Rohit Sharma as captain of Mumbai Indians. Pat Cummins has displaced Aiden Markram as captain of SRH in IPL 2024. Shubman Gill has been named captain of Gujarat Titans for the season.
