Rashid Khan, on Sunday (March 31), took a brilliant catch to send back Aiden Markram in the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The South Africa star was batting on 17 off 18 balls and decided to attempt a big shot to release the pressure that was building up on him. However, he was unable to make good contact with the ball and paid a high price. On the fourth ball of the 15th over, bowled by veteran pacer Umesh Yadav, Aiden Markram decided to go big.
The right-handed batsman did not look for power and went for a long shot. At first it looked like the ball would land well in front of Rashid Khan, but the Afghan star was not ready to throw in the towel. He came running and completed the catch on the slide. The ball reached an awkward height, but Rashid Khan did an excellent job of retaining it.

Early in the game, Rashid Khan showed why he is widely regarded as one of the best spinners in the world. The right-handed player dismissed the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen and gave his team a breakthrough. After scoring two blistering half-centuries in his last two matches, Klaasen also got off to a promising start against GT.
He was hitting 24 off 12 balls with the help of fours and two sixes before Rashid Khan cut short his stay. The Afghan spearhead dismissed the South African star with a wrong ‘un’. Talking about the game, SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first. At the time of writing this report, SRH were 147 for 5 after 18 overs with Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed in the middle.
