Gujarat Titans received a big boost for their ongoing game against Delhi Capitals as their star batsman David Miller finally returned to action.
The South African star played in Gujarat Titans’ first three matches this season, helping them win two of them as he recorded scores of 12, 21 and 44 not out.
However, he had to miss the next three games due to a problem. In his absence, Gujarat Titans lost the fourth and fifth games before registering a thrilling victory in the sixth game against Rajasthan Royals.
David Miller was finally fit to play against DC and GT desperately needed a big score from their star man. Asked to bat first, GT was in serious trouble when David Miller came out to bat. He had to come out to bat in the fourth over after Mukesh Kumar dismissed Wriddhiman Saha for just two runs to reduce GT to 28 for 2. Before Saha’s dismissal, GT captain Shubman Gill was dismissed by Ishant Sharma for eight.
And while GT would have hoped the veteran batsman would get them out of trouble once again, he couldn’t do so against DC. He lasted just six balls and managed to score two runs before a sharp catch by Rishabh Pant ended his stay at the crease.
On the last ball of the fifth over, Ishant Sharma bowled a short delivery of good length that was angled. While the GT star wanted to play the ball to the right side, he was wide open and failed to make good contact with the ball.
The ball flew to the right of Rishabh Pant, who dived to make a stunning catch. The umpire did not give his decision in favor of DC but had to overturn it after Rishabh Pant opted for DRS.

Speaking of the game, GT were reeling at 66 for 7 in 12th at the time of writing.
