Indian batsman Rishabh Pant made sure to congratulate his good friends Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana. This came after Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday (May 26).

Kolkata Knight Riders won their third title in the Indian Premier League. They beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It was pure dominance by the Shreyas Iyer-led team as they were sensational with bat and ball.

Kolkata Knight Riders were asked to field and it was a magnificent start with the ball for the team. Big stage man Mitchell Starc took a big step forward for the team by removing Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi early on, with Travis Head also bagging a golden duck.

They then devastated all the batsmen with their sensational bowling. They bundled out Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 113 runs with Andre Russell being the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets.

With the bat, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39) played a decent hand with the bat at the top. But the real bombshell came from Venkatesh Iyer, who scored a brutal half-century and took his team home. Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the target in 11 overs to win their third title.

The Kolkata Knight Riders players were elated after the victory as they were seen enjoying themselves on the ground. However, what caught the attention of many was that Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh were seen chatting with Rishabh Pant after the game.

Rishabh Pant was seen congratulating Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh for the win. The video of the incident was posted by the official account of Kolkata Knight Riders on the social media account. Here is the video:

You can’t give credit to just one person because everyone has worked hard – Rinku Singh

After the victory, Rinku Singh stated that it was an effort by the entire team of the franchise. He claimed that Gautam Gambhir has changed the entire setup of the team and gave credit to the team for playing well. Speaking after the victory, he explained:

“You can’t give credit to just one person because everyone has worked hard. Since Mr. GG (Gautam Gambhir) arrived, a lot of things have changed. Sending Sunil in early, he batted very well.

“The batsmen bowled well and the bowling was fantastic. Venky (Venkatesh Iyer) has been batting well for the last five matches, so overall everyone has done very well.” He concluded.

Rinku Singh will now travel to the US and join the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. He has been named in the team as a reserve. The T20 World Cup will begin from June 1 and India will play their first match on June 5 against Ireland.
