Rishabh Pant, on Wednesday (April 17), got a lucky breakthrough for Capitals of Delhi while stumping Shahrukh Khan in the ongoing match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The wicketkeeper-batsman hit the ground running in IPL 2024 and his impressive display in the ongoing game will further boost his chances of making it to India’s squad for the T20 World Cup in June this year. The left-hander has impressed with the bat and is DC’s leading run-scorer this season.
While not many expected him to keep wickets in IPL 2024 after his return to action after a break of over a year, Rishabh Pant has left many stunned with his commitment. He has not only kept the wickets but also looked classy behind the stumps.
Speaking of dismissal, Shahrukh Khan faced Tristan Stubbs to face his first delivery in the game. Stubbs bowled a full delivery outside off stump and the G.T. The batter tried.
However, he was unable to make any contact with the ball as it slid under his bat. The momentum also took the right-hand batsman out of the crease and before he could return, the damage was done.
Rishabh Pant failed to collect the ball cleanly. However, the ball fell out of his glove and hit his leg stump. The third umpire took his time but finally gave his decision in favor of the bowling team. As a result, Shahrukh had to return in search of a golden duck.
