Sai Sudharsan Run Out By Sumit Kumar

Sumit Kumar came up with a brilliant effort to exhaust Sai Sudharsan in the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision was immediately justified when Ishant Sharma dismissed GT captain Shubman Gill for just eight runs to give DC a solid start. In the fourth over, Mukesh Kumar bowled Wriddhiman Saha for two to reduce GT to 28 for 2.

And even before GT could add another run to their score, they also lost Sai Sudharsan’s wicket. It was the first ball of the fifth over and the left-handed batsman decided to take a quick single. Ishant Sharma bowled a long delivery just outside off stump and Sai Sudharsan clipped it towards mid-wicket.

It was Sai Sudharsan’s call and he decided to go for a quick run. However, before he could reach the box safely, Sumit Kumar hit the target with a brilliant effort. The DC all-rounder ran towards the ball and played an underarm shot to catch the GT batsman short. Sai Sudharsan dived desperately but fell well short.

Watch Sumit Kumar’s brilliant effort to take down Sai Sudharsan:

Talking about the game, GT is in a precarious position and needs notable effort from its lower order batsmen to achieve a good total. At the time of writing this report, they were reeling at 43 for 4 in the eighth over with Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Tewatia batting in the middle.

GT is currently in sixth place in the points table with three wins and as many losses this season. The Gujarat-based team qualified for the playoffs in their first two seasons of the IPL and will be eager to achieve a hat-trick this year. DC, on the other hand, languish in ninth place with two wins in six games and will be desperate for a win tonight.
