Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad faced each other in the final of IPL 2024 on Sunday, May 26. In the match, KKR tasted a one-sided victory by crushing SRH by a huge margin.

With an impressive bowling show, Shreyas Iyer-led KKR dismantled SRH for just 113 in the first innings. SRH’s top order fell like a house of cards as they lost their match by 8 wickets.

KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 Final Match Report
Expanding on the KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 final match, SRH won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost all three of their top-order batsmen by single digits as Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Rahul Tripathi got out for 2.0 and 9 respectively.
Aiden Markram and Nitish Reddy also failed with the bat, leaving for 20 and 13 respectively. Even Heinrich Klaasen failed to capture runs towards the end, getting out with 16. Pat Cummins batted like a lone warrior to the rescue of SRH towards the end with his highest score of 24 runs, taking SRH to cross 100 runs on the board .
SRH finished with 113-10 at the end. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer scored 39 and 52 respectively to secure KKR’s victory by 2 wickets in 10.3 overs. KKR won their third IPL title and Gautam Gambhir has earned a lot of credit for mentoring him. He was appointed as KKR’s mentor ahead of the IPL 2024 season.
During the league phase, KKR was the best team in the points table. They obtained 20 points with 9 wins and 3 losses in 14 games. Later, they crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualification 1 match to book a place in the final. Later, they bested them once again to win the crown.
