Virat Kohli video calls Smriti Mandhana after Rcb win WPL

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli joined the women’s team’s celebrations after winning the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. The Smriti Mandhana-led team wrote history at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) to lift the trophy for the first time in franchise cricket. They played a magnificent brand of cricket throughout the tournament and when it mattered most, they dominated their opponents and clinched the title.

RCB were asked to play first and did not get off to a dream start with the ball. But it was great to see the way they removed things. From 64/0, they defeated Delhi Capitals by just 113 runs and did not allow them to reach their full quota of 20 overs.

Shreyanka Patil was the star with the ball as she picked 4 wickets, while Sophie Molineux also bagged three wickets. It was a superlative bowling performance from them as it helped them end RCB’s title drought in the cricket league.

With the bat, they adopted a cautious approach but made sure not to let the game go astray. Sophie Devine (31) and Smriti Mandhana (31) added 49 runs for the opener before the first came out in the ninth over.

Ellyse Perry came out to bat at number 3 and ensured that she once again played a vital role for the team in the tournament final. He scored an unbeaten 35 runs and made sure to take his team home. Richa Ghosh (17*) supported her well and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the game by 8 wickets to claim their first league title.

After the victory, as the RCB women’s players celebrated the victory, there was a special participant in their celebration. Virat Kohli was seen doing a video call with the women’s team. The India batsman was seen congratulating Smriti Mandhana and others.
