WEST INDIES FORM: ENGLAND BRINGS WINDIES WINNING STREAK TO AN UNTIMELY END

Things can change very quickly at the ICC T20 World Cup. West Indies breezed through the group stage, but came unstuck against England in the ‘Super 8s’, losing by eight wickets as their under-par score of 180/4 was chased down comfortably, leaving them already on the brink of elimination with only two more fixtures to play at this stage of the competition.

LAST FIVE: LWWWW

USA FORM: OPPORTUNITY TO CAUSE ANOTHER HISTORIC UPSET AFTER RUNNING SOUTH AFRICA CLOSE

USA remain one of the stories of this tournament, but in order to reach an unprecedented semi-final, they face the toughest of challenges. After losing against South Africa by 18 runs, the United States realistically need to win each of their last two vs West Indies and then England in order to progress.

LAST FIVE: LALWW

WEST INDIES BETTING ANALYSIS

Although he failed to go big against England, Nicholas Pooran always offers good value when it comes to scoring runs. He hit 36, including one maximum before being dismissed by Jofra Archer. Expect him to accumulate a higher figure this time round and backing Pooran to score a fifty with a small stake offers good value for bettors. A safer option would be utilising the ‘Batter Milestones’ market and backing Pooran to hit 30+ runs.

Whilst he was successfully shut out by England, spin-bowler Akeal Hosein boasts nine wickets to his name across the tournament and you’d expect a positive response from him against the USA. The opposition batters looking to target Hosein’s slower bowling may well work in his favour and backing him to record over 1.5 match wickets is worth a play.

USA BETTING ANALYSIS

USA were on the losing side vs South Africa, but once again, Saurabh Netravalkar hugely impressed with the ball. Opening the bowling, Netravalkar recorded figures of 2/21 from his four overs and has now taken over 1.5 match wickets in each of USA’s last three completed fixtures. With that in mind, back Netravalkar to repeat that feat in this game.

In all bar one of USA’s four games not affected by rain at the tournament, Aaron Jones has smashed a six, underlining his power which has lit up the competition. In total, Jones has 13 sixes to his name (ten of those coming against Canada) and a shrewd move would be not only backing Jones to score over 0.5 match sixes vs the Windies, but also to hit the most sixes in this United States side.

WEST INDIES VS USA EXPERT PREDICTION

West Indies are under serious pressure not just to win this match, but to win it convincingly in a bid to boost their net-run-rate, which took a significant blow against England. But USA have shown across this tournament so far that underestimating them would be a grave error, having already beaten one ‘Test Nation’ in Pakistan.

The Windies being at home is a huge benefit from them and you’d expect a notable response from them, regardless of whether they are setting or chasing a target. At Kensington Oval, they should wind up too strong for the USA and pick up the two points needed to kick their semi-final hopes alive.
