New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has unveiled the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The event is set to kick off on October 3 in the United Arab Emirates, where the NZC will be sending a team packed with experienced and promising young talent to make their mark on the world stage.
One of the biggest highlights of the New Zealand The women’s squad includes the return of fast bowler Rosemary Mair, who is set to return after suffering a back injury earlier this year during a home series against England in March 2024.

Mair’s return from recovery has added depth and strength to New Zealand’s pace attack, featuring Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr, Hannah Rowe and rising star Molly Penfold.
Mair’s return is a huge bonus for the White Ferns as they aim to make a strong push into the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.
New Zealand women’s cricket captain Sophie Devine and veteran batsman Suzie Bates are set to play in their ninth Women’s T20 World Cup.
Having participated in every edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, Devine and Bates’ vast experience and leadership will be key to New Zealand’s ambitions of winning the ICC title in the United Arab Emirates.
Team New Zealand also boasted a versatile spin attack, with the likes of Leigh Kasperek, Melie Kerr, Fran Jonas and Eden Carson providing a formidable array of bowling options at the upcoming mega event.
Spinning is expected to play a key role in the UAE conditions, and New Zealand has made sure it is well equipped in this department for the mega event.
Izzy Gaze prepares for his T20 World Cup debut
Apart from the experienced core of players, New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Izzy Gaze is the only player who will be making her T20 World Cup debut. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s batting line-up will rely heavily on star all-rounder Amelia Kerr.
Known for her abilities as both a hitter and a pitcher, Kerr will play a key role in the middle of the order in the upcoming tournament.
Alongside her, the experienced Maddy Green and the reliable Brooke Halliday will be crucial with the bat as they aim to deliver solid performances in the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, where the White Ferns will take on India in their opening match on October 4 in Dubai.
As New Zealand prepare for the tournament, the team’s combination of experience and fresh energy sets the stage for an exciting campaign.
With a strong mix of talent across all departments, they are well positioned to make a significant impact at the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.
It is noteworthy that New Zealand is scheduled to tour Australia for a three-match T20I series ahead of the upcoming mega event.
The same team will travel to Australia for the T20I series, which will be held on September 19, 22 and 24 in Mackay and Brisbane, offering great preparation for the mega event.
