Delhi Capitals have not won matches consistently this IPL season; However, their performance in most games impressed their fans until they faced the Royal Challengers at their own home.
They last faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, with the Capitals ending the defending champions’ winning streak at home in this edition of the competition. The likes of KL Rahul, Tristan Stubbs and David Miller had played very well with the bat.
Delhi Capitals have had serious problems with the bat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they collapsed by less than a hundred runs at their own stadium at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Delhi Capitals struggle with lowest-ever power play score
These are the same Delhi Capitals who achieved the highest total of this edition of the competition in the last match at this very venue of the Arun Jaitley Stadium. However, this is not the same pitch and it is not the same bowling attack they were batting against.
The Capitals failed to even reach double digits in the powerplays before losing six wickets in the first five overs of the game. With batsmen struggling, the Capitals had to bring in their impact player, Abhishek Porel.
Despite some shots from Abhishek and David Miller after the powerplay and later joined by Kyle Jamieson, the Delhi Capitals could not hold on to play their quota of 20 overs. They were bowled out for just 75 runs on the board.
“No shame team DC“Fans troll Delhi Capitals for humiliating show in IPL 2026 clash against RCB
Everyone thought RCB’s record of 49 would be broken… but Sunriser’s record was broken today.
They scored 14 runs in the powerplay in 2022 which was the lowest, now DC has 13 runs in PP.

DC scored 45 by the way without the Impact player 👍

From 9 for 6 to finally crossing 49 in DCvsRCB when the bar drops this low, simply hanging on starts to feel like a victory in itself.

Rajat Patidar doesn’t want anyone to break 49 🍭 🍭 Record created in Virat Kohli’s 🍭 captaincy, so he gave the ball to Shepard and made sure that it belongs to the 🍭 King 👑 😂😂😂Whatever it is, Patidar is still the best captain of RCB 🏆 #DCvsRCB #RCBvsDC @IPL #IPL2026 #TATAIPL
